Six Divisional Secretariats in Sabaragamuwa have been recognised for their handling of President’s Fund applications as services are brought closer to local communities.
The recognition event took place at the Ratnapura District Secretariat Auditorium on 2 November, with Speaker Dr Jagath Wickramaratne attending. It assessed office performance during the preceding year.
Recognition for application handling
Embilipitiya placed first in Ratnapura District, followed by Ratnapura and Pelmadulla. In Kegalle District, the Kegalle office secured first place, with Mawanella second and Warakapola third.
The Government Information Department said the awards recognised the receipt of applications and prompt responses. The programme forms part of efforts to decentralise President’s Fund services to Divisional Secretariats and improve the speed and accessibility of public assistance.
