Around 140 British buyers, investors and business representatives attended a Sri Lankan outreach programme in London aimed at developing trade and investment links.
The Export Development Board and Sri Lanka High Commission organised the two-day programme on 21 and 22 October. It included a business forum, networking and bilateral meetings, with Trade Minister Wasantha Samarasinghe leading the Sri Lankan delegation.
Trade contacts ahead of the planned exhibition
The Government Information Department said EDB Chairman Mangala Wijesinghe presented opportunities for sourcing, exports and investment. The programme also promoted the next Sri Lanka Expo, scheduled for 14–17 January 2027.
The planned exhibition is intended to connect Sri Lankan manufacturers, exporters and service businesses with international buyers. The London event provided an introductory platform; the report did not announce a total value of contracts concluded.
