Four low-income families in the Mahakumbukkadawala Divisional Secretariat area of Puttalam have received newly constructed homes through the national housing programme.
The handover took place on 30 October under the patronage of Public Administration Minister Professor Chandana Abayarathna. The Government Information Department published the report on 2 November.
Housing construction continues elsewhere in the district
The National Housing Development Authority implemented the construction under the A Place of Your Own – A Beautiful Life programme, with an allocation of Rs.1 million for each house. The homes are located in the Mohoriya, Daluwegama and Mahakumbukkadawala Grama Niladhari divisions.
The official report said construction under the programme was continuing in other parts of Puttalam District. The four handovers represent completed homes within that wider initiative, rather than the completion of all district housing work.
