Centrum Air has opened a direct connection between Tashkent and Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport, adding another link between Sri Lanka and Central Asia.

The Uzbekistan-based airline launched the service on 28 October. Arriving passengers were welcomed at Mattala, according to the Government Information Department’s report published the following day.

A new route for the tourism season

The announced operating plan provides for two flights a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, during the 2026–2027 tourism season. Travellers should confirm current schedules and ticket availability with the airline or its agents before making arrangements.

Royal Spence Aviation, part of Aitken Spence, has been appointed the airline’s general sales and airport supervision agent in Sri Lanka. The new route is intended to broaden travel opportunities and support tourism and business connections between the two countries.
